Anticipated Progress
As the project attains confirmation of approval through the NEPA reevaluation process during the summer of 2026, final design will be completed for Phase 1 and construction is anticipated to begin during the first quarter of 2027.
Completed Tasks
2006
Environmental Assessment process completed and document submitted.
2007
Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI) letter issued by FHWA, allowing project to proceed.
2022/23
Initial NEPA Reevaluation completed and approved to address early design changes.
2023
Commitment of TIFIA loan funds from US Dept. of Transportation and HB-ACT 443 to partially fund the project.
2023
Notice of Intent released by DOTD requesting Letters of Interest for the CMAR Contractor to deliver the project. Engineering design begins.
2026
Design refinements continue, addressing physical and financial constraints. Reevaluation #2 documentation preparation and submission to FHWA.
2027
Anticipated start of construction
2031
Anticipated completion of Phase 1
